BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the sole founder of the business, we were initially registered as Northern Soul Lifestyle Limited in 2016 but went on to change to Appnin Group LTD to cover all facets of the business

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Roboto Studio?

Originally we hired Roboto Studio for a simple build of a website. This was purely to build a self-hosted ticket-selling site, rather than going through ticketmaster etc. We were then so impressed with the results of the events website we went on to build a further 4 sites with Roboto Studio

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to easily be able to add limited run events in the Nottinghamshire area, and ensure we could be found on Google when searching the specific event names

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Originally I met the founder (Jono) RSVIP networking event in Nottingham. We ended up selecting Roboto after seeing their extensive experience with e-com, and previous web design.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

I've worked with Roboto Studio over a period of four years, consistently upgrading, evolving and optimising my sites. Their work is spread over 4 different sites, each being a unique build for their respective sites. They're all using Wordpress as I'm very happy with how it feels to edit using the CMS, and they're all tailored to be as easy as possible to update and change.

We've most recently altered the way we are able to add events on the website using the "ti.to" ticketing system, which I personally find so easy to use, and all inclusive with the ability to now scan tickets from those that buy on the website. We've also automated our entire process for taking disco requests.

We're now using TypeForm as it pulls directly into my trello boards so that it's a seamless process for us and takes a lot of the faff out of sending an email with a document attached.

What was the team composition?

They handled pretty much all customer facing web work, the infrastructure of how we work as a business and have been an integral part of the company itself. Due to the size of the project, we continued to work with two members of staff over the period of 4 years, continuously updated and iterating on current sites

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I think the fact that we expanded from one e-commerce site, to four separate individual sites with 2 e-commerce platforms is enough in itself. We have expanded into the discos, clothing, workwear and events market - which has also been streamlined with the added surge of incoming leads

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We handled all project management through trello as this was my tool of choice and we were already using it for fulfilling orders. This has been expanded to not only be a valuable project management tool but Roboto has included a lot of automation from the appnin discos side within this same tool for us, as it's our bread and butter.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to adapt on the fly to our requirements with Trello impressed us. And understanding how to tailor every content management system to our unique needs. This includes now utilising typeform to handle a lot of our incoming leads into Trello. It's also worth mentioning the significant performance boosts they brought to Appnin Group, and also the ability to reduce hosting costs with a much simpler faster, host.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There's not really any I can think of, it's definitely been an experience seeing all the effort that goes into producing a seamless experience with 4 different sites.
